How to Reduce Waste & Help the Planet

Tweedy Clothing are now selling on Vinted and Depop! ...Why?

By selling damaged and seconds clothing on these sites, we're reducing waste and helping the planet.

Recently I have been investigating more, digging deeper into the fast fashion industry and why buying from small batch clothing companies like Tweedy is sustainable and helping to shift to impacting the environment less with our fashion choices.

Here is a bit about what I have found so far.

The fashion industry is responsible for 10% of global carbon emissions. We love the designs from fast fashion brands like Zara, but they contribute to this problem by producing new designs at an alarming rate of 2 per week, leading to huge amounts of waste.

In fact, it's estimated that the fashion industry generates 92 million tons of waste each year, with only 1% of clothing being recycled.

But some clothing companies are making a change, like us here at Tweedy, other brands are making a difference.

We believe in small batch production, which means that we produce a limited amount of each design to reduce waste and ensure that each piece is truly special. And unlike Zara, we only release 2 new designs a year, focusing on timeless pieces that will never go out of style.

(Such as our latest releases; our two tone hoodie and cord pants)

By supporting small batch clothing companies like Tweedy, you're not only making a fashion statement, but also an environmental statement. You're supporting ethical and sustainable production, reducing waste, and helping to protect the planet.

So why not join us in making a difference and supporting sustainable fashion today?
